Re: Science Fiction Trivia

Spock's parents (Sarek and Amanda Grayson) from Star Trek. Without this Vulcan/Human pairing one of the most iconic sci-fi characters of the television and movie era would not exist.

Re: MasterClass: How to OXP (updating SoThisTC)

Are there larger versions of the trade route maps (c.200Kb each) from the SothisTC.oxp which I could use in the wiki? OFF TOPIC Try phkb's HTML GALACTIC MAPS . Download everything at that Box Page and open it in your browser of choice by clicking on the OoliteGalaxyMaps.html page. It should be MAC ...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

The Consent Rule on this one needs a bit of further definition. While many such fictional relationships start off in the negative light of "who wants to share their body with something that is not me" they do eventually turn into beneficial relationships. It is this eventual turning of the...

Re: Thargoid War @ Biorle - Missing expansion pack wanted

There are two places where Oolite looks for expansion packs before executing them. The first is from a folder named AddOns. This is the older and original method of accessing expansion packs. Everything in this folder will be a sub-folder that has the extension .oxp (foldername.oxp). The second is f...

Re: Deciphering Javascipt/Legacy Script

Near the bottom of that commodities.plist page is a link to download the OOLITE COMMODITY CALCULATOR by Frame. It is an HTML page that allows you to input your own values for all of the numbers that are confusing you. It will then calculate the results and show them to you. Play around with it for a...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

#2 - Tycho Magnetic Anomaly - 1 from 2001: A Space Odyssey . Used in both the book and the movie to describe the Monolith found in the Tycho crater on the moon. If memory serves the Monolith orbiting Jupiter was referred to as TMA-2. Cannot recall if either was ever actually referred to as "The...

Re: SIRF - update Released

No idea about the rotational stuff. Hopefully montana05 will know. This is why maintaining such things is not for me. Not sure if the version posted above will be the first official release version or not. Set up a download with a newer version for monatana05's approval. It has some very minor chang...

Re: SIRF - update Released

How difficult does it look to be to separate the "station" parts of the OXZ from the "crikey!" ships. Actually this has already been done. The resulting OXZ was never intended for a public release of any sort. Just something made to fit into my Ooniverse. Always liked the S.I.R....

Re: How does my Cobra's energy supply work?

Basic Handwavium Premise: The Perpetual Motion Machine that is a ship's drive engine generates Heat. That Heat needs to go somewhere lest the ship go boom. The Perpetual Motion Machine takes in stuff from space (Dark Matter, Hydrogen, anything else you might prefer). This stuff is then ignited in a ...

Any possibility of your additional Escape Pods/Capsules/Lifeboats not playing well with ESCAPE POD SLAVE FIX by phkb? Have not had the time as yet to personally test them out together so thought the question could be asked first. If you, or any else, has played with these two OXZs working well toget...

What follows is the formula for calculating quantities of goods at a Secondary Market which is entered into a dockable's shipdata.plist entry. This is taken from HERE . rnd = -1..1 // random number in range -1 to +1, slightly biased towards zero adjusted_quantity = (local_capacity / primary_capacity...

Re: Orbital Stations

Two things about M.F.D.'s. First there is M.F.D. FAST CONFIGURATION which allows for all sorts of possibilities. If you wanted you could set it up so that the M.F.D.'s vanish when in combat giving you the extra viewable screen space you might desire. Read that wiki page as it explains all that this ...

Re: GalCop logo

Am liking the one with the stars but it is missing something that definitively defines it as the GalCop logo. Perhaps the word "GALCOP" between the tops of the two side branches? With that word being there nothing is left to chance as to whom it represents. Let us not even discuss font usa...
