Re: GalCop Police

Finally I had the time to include this idea in my WIP, inspired by Norby's GalCop Sheriffs this ships serve now as deputies in less stable systems (anarchy to multi-government), I just need to find a decent graphic program again to change the textures. Will it change the environment for the player ?...

Re: Diplomatic Corps Ships

Well, it took a while to catch up with old ideas, however since I am on sick leave 3 h flight from home it seems now I have plenty of time to continue working on my code. Zerstörer and Commissar Limousine are logical choices if the relevant OXZ's are installed. I struggle with Anarchy, for my believ...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

Sorry, I've not been feeling too good. Hadn't even noticed it was my turn. OK, quickly composing one. Where would you find a Columba, a Chappe and a Bell on backs of elephants, and why? Is this question anyhow related to SiFi ? Without the columba I would guess the rider of an ancient war elephant ...

Re: Laser Combat Reimagined OXZ

Ah, so it's only a full assessment that applies here. Question is, under what circumstances does such an assessment take place? Would appear to be more logical when deciding to flee (already faced lasers). While trying to get a better feeling for "my" ships I logged the assessment every time an att...

Re: Laser Combat Reimagined OXZ

One issue with combat is AI decisions on whether or not to engage with the player. As I understand it, an assessment is made with regard to the player's capabilities. Am I correct in thinking that the laser's threat_assessment value is known to the AI? The AI decision to flee or attack (as much as ...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

First hint: The first publication of this German science fiction novel series was 8th September 1961 Perry Rhodan - it would have been my guess anyway since my knowledge of German SF is virtually non-existent, but I happened to know the series started in 1961. I have no idea of any context beyond t...

Re: Big Cannon

OXP/OXZ are handled alphabetically Except when they aren't... I think on Windows this might be true, but I don't it's true on Linux or Mac. Also consider that OXZ's in the ManagedAddons folder will (I think) be loaded before any OXP/OXZ's in the AddOns folder. However, giving your custom OXP the na...

Re: Big Cannon

1) If you make the suggested changes to only the Vortex shipdata.plist then only the Vortex would have Multiple Lasers. 2) If you make the suggested changes to the shipdata-overrides.plist in the Multiple Lasers OXZ then all of the other Multiple Laser combinations coded into that .plist would beco...
