Re: Progress

Perhaps a more sane approach to Povray would be to create substantially fewer than 2048 unique planets, but on a high enough number that repetitions are not evident. Possibly 256 planets so that they are all unique within a single galaxy. This could allow for higher-resolution textures too. [...] Y...

Re: Progress

Wow, that looks great! Is this process slow? And is it possible to batch apply it to, say, all 2048 Povray planets?  That is amazing! Wow! I really do hope someone can put a Povray reboot together that makes use of this - no matter how big the download is! Thank you! The normal and ...

Re: Time travel, and the note nobody wrote

This really seems like the book I mentioned in the previous "trivia" round (T he Overlords of War by Gérard Klein ): the hero (Corson) is saved by (we later find out) himself, and after being saved is also left a note with some hints about what to do (which we later find out he goes to place there)....

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

Hyperion by Dan Simmons? By wikipedia: "Dan Simmons [...] is an American science fiction and horror writer." Hints: #1 - the book is translated to English. [bonus hint] #1.01 - the author "is guilty" (as some more traditional Englishmen would call his nation :) ) ... this very likely doesn't seem t...
