Re: Are OXZ's an improvement ...

offer an 'extract' command This is a good solution imho. I think the user should be able to set the automatic unpack of all downloads. If the identifier.version.oxp folders in AddOns are declared as managed folders then the manager will be able to update the contents of these. And then how would th...

Re: Scripters cove

Most of the time in practice I think that would either be the interfaces screen, or something invalid (for mission screens called when docking), and I'm not sure how well it would work for a chain of mission screens. Cheers, for the code fragment, I'll no doubt find that useful. :-) My main concern...

Any chance of making this default to the screen the mission screen was called from?

Re: Split: Assassins

Question / Suggestion / Request. Would it be possible for someone who knows what they are doing (not me :) ) to expand DeepSpacePirates to include Assassins and Bounty Hunters? Not sure about assassins and bounty hunters, what are they lurking in deep space? But I would like to see a wider variety ...

Re: Idea: Trade Route Planner

Not to my taste - have you tried cycling the '?' key in the long range chart? Something similar - kinda! I can see the dots change colour. What's it mean - there's no legend? And which key do I press to change the route marker between fewest hops and quickest time? Hold Ctrl while pressing ^. (or w...

Re: Oolite 1.80 crashing at random intervals

Try running on the command line gdb oolite.app/oolite from the install directory. (If you don't have gdb, it'll be in your distribution's repository) That'll say some things for a bit and then give you a prompt. Type 'run' and press return to run Oolite from within gdb. When Oolite crashes, go back...

Re: Tinkerer's Workshop - OXP tweaking for fun and profit!

I've extended the script.js file created for spara's cargo scooping tweak to also enable the non-linear scanner and ultra-zoom functions when I launch. That lets me change HUDs and keep the functionality without having to tweak the new HUD each time. Note that by setting it this way, if the HUD is c...

Re: Progress

Regarding enabling the non-linear scanner: We now have two new Javascript player ship properties, which are boolean and read/write: player.ship.scannerNonLinear and player.ship.scannerUltraZoom . The first sets or unsets the linearity of the scanner, while the other chooses between standard 1:1, 2:...

Re: Impossible space engine, that apparently works

But it's still the product of self delusion; A man believes himself a messiah, he convinces others; this to be true. They kill themselves for the promise of 'ascension'. So which is what and who is conning who? That's not a con either - that's a cult - and that's a whole different kettle of fish. -...

Re: Impossible space engine, that apparently works

Calling something a con implies an intention to deceive. Are you saying it's not possible to get excited over a false positive without such an intention? What I'm saying is, people con themselves all the time, "I'll be alright", "It doesn't matter", "That didn't hurt", "he/she still loves me" Etc e...

Re: Are OXZ's an improvement ...

While we are putting the world to rights, can anything be done about the location of the expansions (of any flavour). As it stands we now have AddOns and the managed expansions folder in two different locations, and where your AddOns lives seems to be different between O/Ss and even installation lo...

Very nice, and I see exactly what you mean now. although... Special kind of hell ;)

(although at one point I heard River's voice in my head " You see, the snow on the roof is too heavy... the ceiling will cave in.... brain is in terrible danger." )
