Re: plot long range course - possible?

It's certainly possible to adjust and tweak the hyperspace destination with the scripting controls we have available. Looking at the problem from my knowledge of the current toolset, the main problem is how to effectively do a UI that works when docked and while in space. Ideally, you would need a m...

Re: Known errors: a summary

Well, this is certainly perplexing. I'm not sure what the ultimate solution can be, but maybe we could start by defining what your current system spec is (System spec, OS, version). If you have access to an older Mac (OS/version) we could try recreating the issue there. If there are other Mac users ...

Re: Known errors: a summary

Do you have an existing version you're upgrading, and have you tried removing the existing version and installing it fresh? You probably have, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Re: Known errors: a summary

I think in a majority of those instances there was a definite bug in the manifest file that was corrected. The issue with Ace/56 ships the issue is less clear, as I thought the issue was related to manifest file formatting, but we never reached a conclusion other than something on the Mac machine it...

Any thoughts?
Thought - "Aw, dang."

I had another look, and the version number appears to be correct. I did do another correction to the manifest, so that the required OXP's are defined correctly, and I tested this on my computer which seemed to work. Can you try again now?

Re: Scripters cove

Why is it a good idea to name the function? It helps with debugging, particularly if the function is a target for a timer. Without naming the function, if the timer is recycled while it's running, the only info you get in the log is "Anonymous function", and there's no way to know where the problem...

Re: (Release) Ship Configuration

Version 1.3.5 has just been released. In this version: Tweaks to the control of the F3 HUD for simpler integration with Xenon HUD (and any other HUD that might want to integrate with Ship Config). Identified "Masslock Compensators", "Power to Engines" and "Hard Way" OXP's as conflicting, and marked ...

This is the oxp I've been waiting for!
Awesome! With a bit of luck and work it will hopefully live up to your expectations.

Progress report: finalising some interactions with pirates, getting security systems in place, balance testing

If you only included some AI transactions
I have this in already. I haven't expanded this to include refueling from the equip screen, but plan to do that. <note to self - do refueling logic for NPC's>

Hangar, please! Well, because it's you! :D (just some further suggestions) Thanks for that link. Apparently this has been a longer term idea than I originally thought! And I thought I was being new and original... oh well. There also seems to be a lot of coughing going on! Drink more water, people!

Random Hits and some other OXP's offer more than enough criminal syndicates. The idea to organize and map them is probably worth an additional WIP.
I think Day's "Diplomacy" has something of this in it, although I haven't explored it fully yet.

Re: (WIP) Hermitage

<sighs -- I won't fall for this> Aw, come on! You know you want to! Perhaps some more details on what I have right now might help. Get ready for a super-long post (because I didn't feel like breaking it up into small bits - sorry!) At the moment, the player can purchase Rock Hermits, some of which ...

Re: (WIP) Hermitage

Why not both? Hmm? That's not a bad idea! Thanks! perhaps it might be interesting to be able to contract a "delivery service" to power your hermitage, thus exchanging credits directly for energy. Already in. Any of the services you add that require a regular commodity input can be arranged as a sch...

(WIP) Hermitage

I've been working on an expansion that will allow you to own and operate a Rock Hermit. I'm just in the process of finialising a few details and doing some play-testing to make sure everything works the way I think it should. But, there are a couple of questions that I'd like to open up for response...

Re: Maintenance upon demmand

It seemed appropriate to include the code in the actual OXP, so here it is, v0.3, with maintenance emails: MaintenanceTuneUp.oxz . For the really keen, here's what I did: First, the startupComplete event, I added this code: if (worldScripts.GalCopAdminServices) { var ga = worldScripts.GalCopAdminSer...
