Just tried a new game with "Strict Mode" on, and same issue. So that should eliminate any OXP issues I would think.

Using "5" in a save game filename

If I press the number "5" when entering a save game filename, the view switches to the F5 screen. No other numbers do this.

To Neelix: no harm done, and as this is my first oxp the technical info is quite useful.

Hmmm... interesting. It would complicate the log function a touch, but perhaps with these options: Modes: 1. Scroll back (default when scroller is primed) 2. Scroll forward 3. Return to current 4. View oldest 5. Clear log Plus, if I put a timer in after (for example) 2 minutes, if no further scroll ...

You could perhaps go for a round-robin approach instead.. once the array is full, each new entry causes the oldest entry to be dropped. It's basically like a circular buffer that never gets larger over time. That's essentially what I'm doing with the log size limit. It drops messages off as new one...

If the log keeps growing, it might be useful to offer the option of clearing the log manually. Ideally this would be available in-flight as well as docked. Any suggestions on the best way of achieving this?

The MFD will work without the scroller. It would always display "Current" at the top, and new messages would keep getting appended to the bottom of the list. You'd only need the scroller to, you know, scroll.

And "COMMS LOG" now fixed.
