There's a fair amour of systems, so a calculated value set using JS would potentially be easier than working them all out, although if the processing overhead is to great for some machines, I'll have to do it.
Can I detect the graphics settings from JS?

Start from a point behind the ship with the directions set to zero so it's looking forward, and make small changes to get a feel for the values. I've also tried putting a flasher in the same location so I know where the viewpoint is from the other views.

If it helps before starting on my own, I played around with the shipdata of the falcon to try and set the weapon positions to match the turret positions, and the left right views to match trying to look out of the physical cockpit I also added a couple of lights at the end of the mandibles to match ...

Thanks! Did worry about the change in the game dynamic with this, but that's the real difference oxp's bring to oolite, changing the nature to bring something different. The next step would be to try and convey the agony of sitting in the rear seats for any length of time, or maybe making it too wid...

Remembering the old willis jeep and the Land Rover, something modular, so bit can be quickly swapped out if broken, and when no parts are available can be fixed most of the time with a hammer...
