Re: i5 or i7 Quad Core Processor?

You'll probably save a little with the Home edition. That's what's on my computer... I'm sure it'll do what you need it to. I never did get Oolite running nicely on it, but then, I never spent much time trying to either ;).

Re: Lister Hill

I considered myself Catholic for most of my life - at least until I was about 24. I personally think it was the Councils of Nicea that are the start of the problem with the Catholic Church - adding all sorts of made up rules.

Re: Lister Hill

This caught my eye and while not strictly relevent to this thread it did make me chuckle. Not just the comedic aspect of the diametrically opposed 'churches' involved, but the fact that even they are subject to petty bureauocracy! :D I feel like it is relevant. Thank you for sharing it. It's kind o...

Re: Lister Hill

Sorry about the rant. This just seems like a good place to dump some thoughts. Anyway, does anyone here find it disturbing that an Archbishop is blessing evidence from a crime scene? (Of course, this is a rhetorical question ;)). http://www.abqjournal.com/428467/news/sheehan-prepares-to-step-down.ht...

Re: Lister Hill

Let me rephrase: "If you would like to learn the measure of a man, the afternoon is the time of day to watch him. We are all half an inch taller in the morning than at night; it is fairly easy to take a large view of things when the mind is rested and the nerves are calm. But the day is a steady dra...

Re: Lister Hill

This is only my opinion, but I would like to personally condemn the upcoming Referandum on the 18th. How can we create a REAL United Kingdom without a key element?

Re: Now where have I seen that name before

Are you aware she makes a brief (but pivotal) appearance in Elite: Reclamation ? No, I was not. I need to read that, too, methinks. I haven't read any long fiction since The Oolite Saga, although I have thought a bit more about Commander R. Lock's backstory, which is rooted in northeast of G...

Re: i5 or i7 Quad Core Processor?

i5s still have plenty o' shelf-life, I'd reckon. My old Pentium 4 is still good for some sorts of computing ;).

Re: Lister Hill

Fortunately, CommRLock, unless one actually wishes to move in such rarefied circles, one will encounter very little of what Wildeblood describes.. That is good - no religion should be bashed - only the people that have manipulated them for wrong-doing and self-serving interests. They all contain tr...

Re: Lister Hill

There has never been a separation of church and state. No - nor in England (unfortunately)! That's one of the nice things about being in Oz.. 'tis not a problem we suffer from here.. nor is that "job requirement" you mentioned earlier. Independent thought is still permitted and encouraged, as well....

Re: Lister Hill

I'm not sure if you all have seen/read this. It is one of the most frightening things I've ever witnessed. These are the puppet masters Hillary is addressing - at least some of them, at any rate.

Re: Lister Hill

I've been watching Pink Floyd's The Wall a lot the past few days. Looking back on it, it always made sense to me from the time I first saw it (I saw part of it around ten and the entire movie for the first time in high school - ah the days of skipping school and smoking weed :D )

Re: Lister Hill

I was born into an elite family... <grins> I was born with a whole load of nothing... and I've still got most of it left! I know - too many have. Too few have had too much while so many have had such little. Edit: I may have gotten kicked around by the state, in and out of court, moving around, but...
