Re: Trader-Hunter routes
I can't help but think that it's a shame that the native missions have become so planned , so expected ... too much info on the Wiki, IMO! Hey-ho! You can never have enough info imo, I hate surprises. :o Even nice surprises? :) I do agree with El Viejo though, and wonder if we are not a bit too kee...

Re: Trader-Hunter routes
Sounds interesting...I'm currently trading between Xexedi and Laenin, they are only 0.8 light years apart. Xexedi is a Confederecy but does get a lot of pirate activity and is also a tech 14 rich industrial, so I can get all the equipment I might need there. Funny thing about Xexedi and Laenin, the...

Re: Trader-Hunter routes
Onenti-Ansoreat perhaps? Or if you plan to make most of your money on the hunting/salvage side than the trading side, the corridor between Qucedi and Lerela has plenty of pirates. Definite public service if you could keep the spacelanes safe there. The Kobs Ladder region has a nice mix of safe and ...

Or a lot of the time they ram you when you are flying a big slow ship.Amaranth wrote:If you can make it stick, I guess a Python is pretty good for ramming pirates also.

Re: Why is the Python such a fine ship for traders?
I agree that it tends to get overlooked, especially because of it's slow speed. I must admit that I only had one for a short time until I could get the Boa. :? But there are a couple of good OXP versions, the clipper and cruiser versions which does improve on the the speed. I guess the biggest downs...

Re: Pirate v. pirate
I've never had this happen before. :o Maybe because I usually stick to the safer star systems. This happened to me in Bierle, a Confederacy ... admittedly I was looking for trouble! There was a cluster of salvage drifting around, so I think I'd arrived in the aftermath of something. Maybe tha...

Re: Ship's trade-in value
The greatest factor is how many hits you take when the shields are down. I don't take any hits when the shields are down. (That is, when I do get hit with my pants... I mean, shields, down, I usually die and reload.) Time is also a factor, slower ships will need maintenance a lot sooner than a fast...

Re: Ship's trade-in value
Maintenance effects the chances of equipment getting damaged. So a poorly maintained ship will have more chance of getting damaged equipment when under fire, also when you jump into hyperspace there is a chance something will break. The cost is effected by how much equipment you have installed in yo...
