Happy to report Oolite ran fine, no frame drops or anything, I don't think my 460GTS video card could quite manage enough bits as there was some banding on the planets but game still looks amazing anyway! Opening log for Oolite version 1.89 (x86-64 test release) under Windows 10.0.17763.379 64-bit a...

I've got stuck in a loop with EliteD, in that I don't play it often so I try an re-learn the keys by playing through the training missions writing down what keys do what on a bit of paper , then give up when i get to the combat one where they introduce missiles- it's just too hard and for me and tak...
Smashing screenshots, love that there's colour back in the atmosphere effects in the latest screenshots, not sure if it's randomly generated but the last few pages of screenshots seems to be mostly white atmospheres, I prefer the colour ones
It can be very daunting getting your first ship in game but it really is a lot of fun once you getting it working, for placing lasers etc i found loading the object into wings3d and placing a vertex at the point where you want the laser/turret/subentity to be placed and making a note of the vertex c...

that looks awesome, does it ripple like liquid? if so, mixed in faintly over a regular texture would make a cool effect for alien ships like the Thargoids or one of the other oxp organic ships types
thanks a_c, i'll update those lines, i'm blown away with how great the default shaders look and want to try and match the lighting as closely as possible, i'll check that link out too, hope its not too maths heavy

yeah i'm struggling to get the awesome lighting 'sheen' as seen in the examples in the screenshots thread happening in these shaders, think i'm feeding the shader some duff glossmaps and shinyness levels. tweaking stuff in rendermonkey is a bit tougher as it seems to set the gl_ variable stuff diffe...
shader test with lighting code taken from the uIOR version of the oolite shaders I'm trying out storing paint colours in an array, means that the shader needs opengl version 120 minimum to work. player and NPC versions, in oxp format https://app.box.com/s/6dcsmkwkvaq9lzd3dpeilhnt2jlktjc2 edit: no uI...
