Re: Maintenance upon demmand

This idea gets a yea vote from me. Spent quite a bit of time a while back implementing a custom gauge into my HUD of choice so as to keep track of my ship's Maintenance Level. Having the choice as to when to have my ship maintained as opposed to having it show up only when it proves to be most costl...

Re: Big Cannon

Just out of curiosity once again do the following suppositions hold true. 1) If you make the suggested changes to only the Vortex shipdata.plist then only the Vortex would have Multiple Lasers. 2) If you make the suggested changes to the shipdata-overrides.plist in the Multiple Lasers OXZ then all o...

The Vanishing Point

This problem appears via two different OXZ's by different authors. Hoping that more creative minds than myself can find a solution. With Towbar You have a ship hooked up to your Towbar or a derelict ship hanging in nearby space waiting to be hooked up to your Towbar. You then wish to check the statu...

Re: Oolite FAQ - New Forum Members Please Read......

Bumping into stuff should have little effect on your Service Level if your shields are up. Battle Damage is also generally negated by your shields. The main source of Service Level Wear and Tear comes in the form of Witchspace Jumps. The more jumps you make the lower your Service Level gets. The ide...

Re: Issues with random explosions and issues with speed

Adding to what another_commander suggested you might try increasing the size of your page file, swap file, or whatever it is referred to under Linux. Mine is set at a ridiculously large size for many reasons and Oolite uses close to 100MB of it on occasion with 300+ OXZ's installed. How you would go...

Are you using the Super Hubs for Extra Planets OXZ ?

Re: escorts = 0; no longer works?!

ESCORT_ROLES overrides everything else relating to escorts according to that wiki entry. Since the oolite_template_boa-mk2 is using escort_roles they are most likely overriding the escorts = 0 you are entering for the picket-boa2. Guessing that if you gave the picket-boa2 its own dictionary of esco...

Re: Masslock Compensator OXZ

Gave it a try and would have to agree that it should be disabled when in and around anything that you might dock with. The problem one has if it is not disabled in such a situation is that your speed while trying to dock is definitely affected. The slightest increase in thrust while approaching the ...

Re: Armoury OXP

Loaded up Armoury v1.14 and got the following error in Mr. Latest Log: [shipData.load.error]: ***** ERROR: the shipdata.plist entry "drones_kamikazeDrone" has unresolved subentity drone_kamikazeLaser. Have a vague idea myself as to what the problem may be but cannot be 100% sure of my theory as my s...

Re: Space Oddity

Thank You Svengali. Was unaware such a list existed. Bookmarked it for future reference. Found the problem in the Ionics OXZ. Ersoonve is in the Ionics OXZ planetinfo.plist with several sky/space variables in its legacy scripts. Removed those, and those from the other planets found in that planetinf...

Re: Space Oddity

Good to know that it is not some sort of specific planetary system bug. Never encountered this before so reported it as a possibility. Did not want it to end up Burning Down The House.

Kudos on getting the Bowie reference.

Space Oddity

Jumped into the Ersoonve system in Galaxy 2 and was confronted by a view of space that looked like this: https://i.imgur.com/qzggTK6.png In all of my more than 600+ previous jumps into various systems space always looked like this: https://i.imgur.com/DqFEcod.png Checked with Mr. Latest Log - nothin...

Re: Griff's normalmapped ship remakes

Why in the manifest.plist within your just released replacement OXZ have you listed it as conflicting with the original replacement OXZ? As far as can be determined by my limited knowledge of such things they do two totally different things. Please correct me if this is an error on my part. Your rep...

Methinks you might need a heaping helping from "The Joys of Spreadsheets". Either that or hire one of the accountants from Ceinerxe but they are an expensive piece of equipment. Seriously though, the job ain't done until the paperwork is finished. One of the things that brought me joy with the origi...
