This is really good, wish I could have had this information all those years ago when I first discovered this terribly addictive remake of a childhood classic...yes I know, I'm 21 but we were poor and I inherited most of my stuff from my dad, lol! ...Since I can happily dock manually... Can't anyone ...

...but, and forgive me if I'm wrong here, can't you connect a PC to a 42" HDTV? I mean, I have a HDMI port on my PC and surely (if I had enough money, lol) I could plug this into a HDTV and use that as my monitor?

Yeah, go out and buy a PS3. Not that you can play Oolite on it, but because the XBOX 360 is a poor console :P   8)

I am currently exploring Galaxy 8... There's not a great deal to do here though, you could be the first to OXP this part of the vast and mighty Co-Operative!

Wow! That looks amazing in-game, Griff's detail to on the modles surpasses the work seen on many commercial titles.

On a side note, is it easy to create videos in Oolite? (I'm sure this has been mentioned before, so sorry if so, and does anyone have a link if it has to the answer? :) )

I recently compiled Oolite from both 1.72.2 source and the trunk using Ubuntu 8.04 (64-bit) and GNUStep 2.0.2 and had no problems, except I had to rename one of my folders. Try searching this forum for that post (would provide link but im on ps3 and i don't have a usb keyboard and takes hours just t...

Ah... well we seem to have come to a dead end as far as this goes then, but I don't think this should be shelved so quickly. In the future, after more critical and demanding enhancements have been made, this could pave the way to expanding Oolite in a huge way... One last question, I got the idea fo...

If your system can handle shaders I advise getting some eye-candy OXPs to bring your copy of Oolite into the 21st century. Neolite is awesome, I have this OXP and I really like the redesigned ships, especially the Megaships! Griff has also been remodelling ships so definitely get your hands on those...

How about adding a script command that changes the galactic seed when you jump beyond galaxy 8 and another to switch it to galaxy 9? Or is that even more complicated, lol?

Sure, but how would you get there without manipulating your savegame? I was suggesting an ingame way of getting to oxp-defined galactic sectors. Ah, I see what you mean. Well, I have managed to modify the source of a trunk build Oolite I have and managed to get it to start you off in a completely d...

In theory you could already write an OXP for this galaxy, as long as you state in the script to use galaxy 8 but I don't know if the program will accept that or not (Haven't tested - will do so soon - waiting for microwave to *bing*). It should work though, as the save file points to galaxy 8 (which...

Oolite: The Next Generation - Galaxy 9

WARNING: PLEASE BACK-UP YOUR SAVE GAME BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS 'ALTERATION' - I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR SAVE FILES. Now, sorry for the disclamer but seeing as that probably got most of your attention I'll get on with it. For those of you who don't know how to do this, and ...

Right forgive me for asking this but I have now tried EVERYTHING I can think of... I have recently purchased a new PC (AMD Phenom X3 8550 Triple-Core (2.20GHz, 2MB Cache), Genuine Windows® Vista Home Premium 64-bit Edition, 3GB DDR2 memory, 320GB SATA hard drive, NVIDIA® GeForce 8200 graphics) and c...

This is a good idea. As a massive fan of the Galactic Navy OXP, I like the idea of each Sector Command Station having an area of space to defend, and a map like this would certainly help for possible future ideas for this OXP. Such as, perhaps each area has a slightly different variation of the Gala...
