Ejecta inherit the parent's velocity.
It's far faster than injection speed. It zooms across the HUD at 1:1 in less than 3 seconds.

Yes, that's what I meant.

I don't get a beacon nearby.

Should it be an item on the Advanced Space Compass? What letter is used for it? (i.e. Witchspace beacon = W, Navigation Beacon = N, etc.)

Odd, I don't think my Rock Hermit Locator is working. No unusual beacons or flashing lights, nothing new on the Advanced Space Compass either? I'm pointing right at a Rock Hermit.

1.65 on Ubuntu 7.04 64-bit. Version 1.1.

Any debugging steps?

I actually managed to ID it a while ago. It was an ejection capsule, but obviously there's some sort of error - it's travelling much faster than even hyperspace speed.

Ah-HA!

This was right:

/usr/lib/GNUstep/System/Applications

I just needed to fully expand the .OXP directory. I put the directory containing the .OXP directory in there, that didn't work. I needed to go up one level.

This directory didn't exist for me, so I created it. Not sure if it worked. I noticed it took a little longer to start up.

Now I have to get to a high tech level planet to see if it worked.

Thanks for the advice.

OXP directory in Ubuntu 7.04?

From what I can tell, it doesn't seem to be created on install. I created an "AddOns" directory in /usr/lib/GNUstep/System/Applications and put the ETT Homing Beacon OXP in it, but nothing. I have consulted http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/OXP#Linux for Debian, but there's no AddOns directory in any...

Jumping *back* galaxies?

I've completed all the standard missions, so now I took a look at the OXPs.

Unfortunately very few of them take place in Galaxy 5.

Can I go back? I don't think so.:(

I discovered you can also be a bad guy and no one will notice. There's going to be a brisk business in replacement station buoys until I get sick of it.

I must admit, although it is cheating, it's a fun gadget to have. What's most interesting is pirates' reactions to it. If you're in close quarters, they get so confused they stop dead and don't even react when you start firing at them. If they're on an evasive manouever they'll immediately stop the ...

Is it just me or was this mission a bit of a let-down? I didn't even know it happened. SPOILER - scroll down About the only indication anything was happening is that I get 3 Asps that jump right in at the Witchspace marker and start firing at me, and that one of them is cloaked. I thought it was a g...
